Artist StatementMy art is informed by my life, which is an unusual one. I live in a caravan with my partner. We travel the highways and byways of Australia be it bush, beach, mountain or forest. Wherever our hearts lead us.
I also teach encaustic art workshops as we travel, and in between times I spend a lot of time drawing. I’m inspired by things I see as we find new places. That might be a pattern in the sand made by the ocean, a rock that has been weathered by time and the environment, the lines of shadows created by the sun and clouds. A moment in time that leads me to patterns, shapes, colours that excite my desire to create. |
EncausticI teach encaustic art as we travel around Australia. its so exciting to inspire a new set of artist and show them this amazing medium. No other artform can create such luminosity and depth that encaustic does. There are so many ways to incorporate encaustic into your art practice. My workshops cover such varied themes as Mixed Media, Photo Encaustic, Shellac and encaustic, Collage, Image transfer, encaustic and fibre encaustic and plaster, textural encaustic wax and paper and much more

DrawingMy drawings are my interpretations of things I see as we travel but also about how i feel . I love pattern and shape and the idea of creating my own imaginary eco systems. I like things to have a flow and gracefulness whilst still imbuing a sense of strength.
